Your Roof Questions, Answered

Honest answers to help you make the best decision for your roof.

What Exactly is a Roof Renewal?

Most homeowners haven’t heard of this—but it can help extend the life of your roof.

A roof renewal is a treatment that restores the natural oils in your shingles.
Over time, shingles dry out and become brittle—similar to how asphalt cracks as it ages. Our treatment helps bring flexibility back, so your roof can continue protecting your home for years to come.
Most roofs start showing signs of aging around 5–10 years.
Common signs include:
- Loss of granules
- Dry or brittle shingles
- Early signs of wear
If shingles are heavily damaged, curling, or missing material, the roof may no longer be a good candidate—but we’ll always give you an honest assessment.
Roof renewal and roof cleaning serve two different purposes.
Cleaning removes stains like algae and moss to improve appearance.
Renewal services focus on restoring the health of your shingles by replenishing the oils they lose over time.
Cleaning improves how your roof looks.
Rejuvenation helps it last longer.

Traditional roof cleaning often uses a bleach-based solution to remove stains, while renewal is designed to improve the condition of the shingles themselves.
In many cases, the renewal process also helps break down and eliminate organic growth—so you're improving your roof’s appearance and condition at the same time.
Not all roof treatments work the same way.
Some products sit on the surface and provide short-term results.
Our treatment is designed to soak deeper into the shingles, helping to:
- Restore flexibility
- Improve granule adhesion
- Provide longer-lasting protection
It’s designed to restore your roof—not just coat it.
We also avoid harsh solvents and use a treatment that’s safer for your home and surroundings.
Yes—roof renewal is a more sustainable way to take care of your home.
Instead of tearing off your roof and sending thousands of pounds of shingles to a landfill, rejuvenation helps extend the life of what you already have.
Our treatment is also bio-based, making it a more environmentally conscious alternative to harsher chemical treatments.
Millions of tons of roofing material are discarded every year. By keeping your shingles in place longer, you’re helping reduce waste and get more life out of existing materials.

Is My Roof a Good Fit?

Not every roof qualifies—and that’s okay. Here’s how to tell if yours might be a good candidate.

Most asphalt shingle roofs between 6–20 years old are great candidates.
Your roof may qualify if:
- Shingles are still intact
- There’s no major structural damage
- Signs of aging are just beginning (not severe)
If your roof still has life left in it, there’s a good chance we can help extend it.
Some roofs are simply too far gone for renewal.
This may include:
- Shingles that are curling or brittle
- Significant granule loss
- Active leaks or structural damage
If that’s the case, we’ll be upfront and let you know. Our goal is to help you make the right decision—not sell you something that won’t work.
That’s completely normal—most homeowners aren’t climbing up to inspect their roof.
We’ll take a look for you and give you an honest assessment of:
- Whether your roof qualifies
- What kind of results you can expect
- Whether this is the right option for you
No pressure—just clear answers.
Yes—timing matters.
The earlier you treat your roof, the more life you can get out of it.
Waiting too long can allow the shingles to become too brittle or damaged to qualify.
Think of it like maintenance—not a last resort.
Yes. Many homeowners choose to reapply the treatment every 5 years to continue protecting their roof.
With proper timing, this can significantly extend the overall life of your shingles.

What Happens Next?

Here’s what to expect before, during, and after your treatment.

Yes—the treatment is safe for your home, family, and pets.
Our team takes care to protect your landscaping and surrounding areas during the process.
If you have pets, we simply recommend keeping them indoors during the application and until everything has dried.
Most homes are completed in just a few hours.
There’s no loud tear-off, no heavy equipment, and no major disruption to your day.
No—cleaning usually isn’t necessary.
The treatment is designed to penetrate the shingles and break down organic growth like algae and moss as it works, so it effectively handles both restoration and cleaning in one step.
In rare cases where a roof has heavy buildup, we may recommend cleaning first—but most roofs don’t require it.
You may notice a slightly darker, refreshed look right after application.
This is normal and fades over time as the treatment absorbs into the shingles, leaving a more natural appearance.
Nothing at all.
Once the treatment is applied, it begins working immediately. There’s no special maintenance required—just let it do its job.
